Hello there! Thank you for visiting.
In high school I became Nationally Certified Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician. I have been working as a veterinary technician since 2013 and I have had the opportunity to work with 15 different veterinarians and learn from them. Some aspects of animal care that I am most passionate about, beside responsible breeding, is a healthy weight, proper nutrition, genetics, diagnostics, labwork, oral care, behavioral training, and obedience/ performance training.
While I was in college I purchased my first dog, Sapphire. She was registered as a Miniature Australian Shepherd but I moved her registration to AKC as a Miniature American Shepherd. Sapphire taught me a lot about dogs and she went everywhere with me that she possibly could. She is very intelligent and learned tricks unexpectedly quickly! I fell in love with the breed and began my journey in researching Miniature American Shepherds and how to help contribute to the breed.
While I in college I also had the opportunity to work as a canine trainer for a period of time. I learned a lot about canine behavior, positive reinforcement, agility training, puppy socialization, and some about reactive dog training. This training helped me find my passion for versatility and performance events. For several years, I was also a volunteer with the local Youth 4-H dog program helping the kids bond with their dogs through obedience, agility, and showmanship as well as service projects. I also had the opportunity to work as a zookeeper for a summer which was quite a neat experience!

In my personal life, I spend most of my time outside of work with my dogs. They sure make me happy and give me purpose in life. I also love camping and hiking with my family. I enjoy the arts, theatre, and music as well.
I also own a male Indian Ringneck Parrot who has learned how to wave, shake, twirl, fly to me, and fly back. He loves to talk when he thinks no one is listening. "Gimmee Kiss", "What're Ya Doin'?", "Come Here", "It's Okay", "Hi Azure", "Peek-A-Boo", and "Good Boy" are a few of his favorite phrases. He enjoys wolf whistling, dog whistling, whining like a dog, barking like a dog, and giving kisses. |
